University of Michigan—Ann Arbor is a public institution that was founded in 1817. Campus Life
Michigan is a huge university, meaning that students have endless extracurricular options here. One explains: "If you seek it out, you can find organizations for any interest. There are always people out there who share your interests. That's part of the benefit of 50,000-plus students!" There is a robust party scene. Students tell us that "most students go to house parties [or] hit the bars." There's also a vigorous social scene for the nondrinking crowd, with "great programs like UMix...phenomenal cultural opportunities in Ann Arbor especially music and movies," and "the hugely popular football Saturdays. The sense of school spirit here is impressive." Michigan students tend to be both academically serious and socially outgoing, which "is great because you can have a stimulating conversation with someone one day, and, the next day, be watching a silly movie or playing video games with this person."

College Track and Field Recruiting
Tennessee Head Coach and Director of Cross Country/Distance Sean Carlson announced the program's signees for its 2023 class. The Vols and Lady Vols will welcome state champions from around the country to Rocky Top as the distance squad looks to build upon an impressive first year under Carlson.
Carlson is in his first year at the University of Tennessee after leading the Notre Dame men to unprecedented success. In his first season at UT, Carlson's men have qualified to the NCAA National Championships and are currently ranked #14 in the nation.

The University of Tennessee, Knoxville is a public research institution located in one of the state's largest cities, and is the flagship campus for the state school. It has more than 40 fraternities and sororities for students to join. The UT sports teams are known as the Vols and the Lady Vols, short for Volunteers. The teams compete in the NCAA Division I Southeastern Conference, and football season is a particularly big draw at the school.
