Mike Nelson, the Marjorie & Herbert Chase '30 Director of Dartmouth Track & Field and Cross Country, has announced the incoming class of 12 men who will join the Big Green this fall.

"We're thrilled to welcome our new Big Green Track & Field team members, class of 2029! We look forward to helping these student-athletes in their pursuit of excellence on and off the track," Nelson said. "The Ivy League is an elite track and field conference, and these newcomers will help our program as we chase Ivy League success. Also, I want to give a shout-out to the coaching staff as they work tirelessly in the recruiting process. Go Big Green!"

FTR ALUM - George Sullivan 
Throws | Princeton, N.J. | Taft


Served as a track and field captain… Was a two-time All-Founders League honoree in football and Founders League Champion in track and field… Has a 177-8 / 54.15m javelin PR.

Foster Laird
Distance | Homewood, Ala. | Homewood High School


Was named an Alabama All-State Track and Field Athlete, as well as an Alabama All-Star Cross Country Athlete… Named a National Merit Finalist… Earned the seal of biliteracy and seal of distinction… Career bests include a 1:56.72 in the 800m and 4:19.94 in the 1600m.

Eli Engelman

Was a four-year letter winner in high school cross country, indoor, and outdoor track… Had All-state and all-county honors… Graduated with cum laude distinction… Career bests include a 1:55.45 in the 800m and a 4:13.27 in the 1600m.

Callahan Fielder 
Distance | Nashville, Tenn. | Brentwood High School


Personal bests include a 4:12.01 mile and 8:53.53 two miles… Played travel hockey in addition to running cross country in high school.

Was a two-time CA Cross Country State Championship podium, three-time Sac-Joaquin Cross Country Section Champion and three-time Cross Country League Champion… Was named a 2x3200 and 2x1600 League Champion, as well as a Sac-Joaquin Divisional 1600 Champion… Career bests include a 9:03.61 in the 3200m and a 15:02.28 in the 5000m.

Rory Gaan
Distance | Hoffman Estates, Ill. | Fremd High School 


Was a three-time All-State in cross country and track and field… Holds three high school records… Was an honor roll student… Personal bests include a 4:11.43 in the 1600m and an 8:59.64 in the 3200m. 

Why Dartmouth?: "I chose Dartmouth because on my visit, I felt the coaching staff and school would be a great fit for me. I really liked the area of the campus and how small the class sizes are."

Richard Rozkydalek

Matthew Kmecz

Was a four-year student-athlete of the year winner… Placed second at OFSAA XC and third at Canadian XC Nationals in 2024…Personal bests include a 1:52.70 in the 800m and a 3:48.94 in the 1500m.

Mitchell Kisgen 
Sprints/hurdles | Natick, Mass. | Xaverian Brothers High School


Was a three-time state champion, four-time captain, five-time New Balance Nationals qualifier and an eleven-time letter winner in track and soccer… Holds six school records… Career bests include a 48.76 in the 400m and 54.23 in the 400m hurdles.

Henning Ehn
Hurdles | Njurunda, Sweden | Svaderns Gymnasieskola 


Was selected to represent Sweden at the Nordic Championships 2024 in the 110m hurdles… Was the 13th fastest U20 Swede of all time in the 110m hurdles… Is a nine-time National Junior Championship Medalist… Holds the regional Medelpad record in the 60m hurdles…Personal bests include a 8.30 in the 60m hurdles, 14.23 in the 100m hurdles and 38.35 in the 300m hurdles.

Why Dartmouth?: "Dartmouth will be an amazing place where I can challenge myself athletically and academically. The setting in the woods of New Hampshire resembles the environment of my native Sweden and I hope that will bring the best out of me."

Pole vault | Raleigh, N.C. | Wakefield High School

Was a four-year varsity letter winner and four-time conference champion… Was named the N.C. 4A State Champion, Nike Indoor Nationals Champion and a three-time All-American… Career best includes a 16-1 / 4.90m in the pole vault.

Jack Rousseau
Sprints | Louisville, Ky. | Saint Xavier High School


Was named an All-American in 4x4 and 4x2… Received KHSAA All-State honors and the scholar athlete award twice... Was a three-year letter winner across various sports (baseball, XC and track)... Personal bests include a 49.52 in the 400m and 22.45 in the 200m.

Annamaria Bacchetta

Before Dartmouth: Was a Cross Country team captain… Named to the TWSA Writers Association All-State team for the 5k… Earned Second Team All-American at the Running Lane XC Championships… Helped her team become the TN Division AA State XC Team Champions in her freshman and sophomore years… Earned 2025 Tennessee All-State T&F Honors as well as Girls First Team for the 1600m and 3200m… Personal records include 4:53.40 in the 1600m and 10:44.84 in the 3200m.

Sophie Spelman

Before Dartmouth: Earned first team All-New England Indoor Track, All-State Indoor Track, and First Team All-FCIAC Indoor Track (2024, 2025) honors… Was given numerous cross-country honors, including being named an All-FCIAC Cross Country honoree, as well as being named to the All-New England Cross Country and All-State Cross Country teams… Personal records include a 5:00.81 in the 1600m and 10:59.62 in the 3200m.

Before Dartmouth: Was a multiple Slovak champion and earned the best athlete award in Nove Zamky, SK… Earned the principal's awards for athletic and academic excellence in high school… Personal bests include an 8.80 (60H), 14.38 (100H), 56.86 (400m) and 59.56 (400H).

Maura O'Scannlain

Before Dartmouth: Participated in varsity cross country and track and field all four years of high school… Was named a two-time team Oregon State XC Champion… Personal bests include a 4:38.31 in the 1500m and a 9:54.05 in the 3000m.

Katie Kelly

Before Dartmouth: Was the 2025 Florida 3A Pole Vault State Champion and state runner-up in 2024… Placed fourth at the Adidas Outdoor Nationals in 2024… She is a school record holder at her high school… Served as the head captain of her track and field Team and was a four-year varsity athlete… Has a 12-0 / 3.65m pole vault PR.

Imogen Brown
Sprints | Tiburon, Calif. | The Branson School


Before Dartmouth: Captained her team to win the D5 California state championship… Is her high school record holder in the 200m, 4x400m, and 4x800m… Was a 12-season athlete in cross country, soccer, and track… Personal bests include a 58.86 in the 400m and a 1:41.87 in the 600m.

Siena Bateman

Before Dartmouth: Was a four-year varsity lacrosse and track and field athlete, as well as a three-year varsity field hockey athlete… Was a four-time First-Team All-League Track and Field Athlete, four-year track and field team MVP, two-time long jump D3 CIF Champion, three-time triple jump D3 CIF Champion, and the high jump D3 CIF Champion…  Was named the Coastal League Girls Scholar Athlete of the Year… Personal bests include an 18-2 / 5.53m in the long jump and 37-7 / 11.45m in the triple jump.

Maddie Romaine

Before Dartmouth: Was a three-time All-Conference honoree, a two-time All-Regional and All-Sectional recipient, and earned All-State honors… Was a three-time state qualifier in cross country and a two-time state qualifier in track and field… Earned Academic All-Conference honors in cross country and track and field four times… Has a 10:56.30 PR in the 3200m. 

Why Dartmouth?: The incredibly tight-knit community among athletes and students really attracted me to Dartmouth. I could tell from all of the interactions I had with so many kind, genuine people that Dartmouth would be a place that would allow me to grow as a student, athlete, and person!

Evie Woodrow

Before Dartmouth: Made All-State in the pole vault for three years straight… Was a member of the National Honor Society and graduated with summa cum laude distinction… Has an 11-6 / 3.50m pole vault PR. 

Why Dartmouth?: "I love New England. The campus is beautiful, many people told me they had an amazing experience, I can keep doing the sport I love and the reputation is great."

Meghan Prior
Throws | Arlington, Mass. | Arlington High School


Before Dartmouth: Was named the New England Discus Champion… Was a two-time All-Conference honoree and a six-time All-League recipient… Earned the MSTCA Outstanding Field Athlete Award… Served as a varsity track and field captain… Personal bests include a 38-4 / 11.68m in the shot put and 137-9 / 41.98m in the discus.

Faith Ferguson

Before Dartmouth: Earned All-League recognition in the 24-25 season… Personal bests include a 39-10 / 12.14m in the shot put and 126-7 / 38.58m in the discus.

Before Dartmouth: Was a five-time All-American at New Balance Nationals… Was named an All-Conference and All-State honoree for four years… Holds 10 school records and was a three-time team MVP… Was the President and co-founder of the Female Athletes of Country Day Club… Personal bests include a 57.60 in the 400m and 2:09.33 in the 800m.
