Boise State Track & Field Adds 33 Newcomers for 2025 Season
Boise State Cross Country and Track and Field Head Coach Pat McCurry has announced the addition of 33 new student-athletes for the 2025-26 season. The class includes 19 men and 14 women, with seven newcomers set to compete in cross country.
“Our staff is stoked to announce our first full recruiting class in our tenure,” McCurry said. “The balance, depth, and quality of this class reflects our commitment to building championship-ready teams. This group of student-athletes will be transformational to our program.”
Men’s Track & Field / Cross Country Recruits
Patrick Kiprop (Nairobi, Kenya / Cincinnati) – 5000m PB: 13:54.71. NCAA transfer with top-tier cross country experience.
Tyler Grant (Spring, TX / Grand Oaks HS) – Discus: 202’0”. 2025 Texas UIL 6A State Champion; ranked Top 10 nationally.
Shawn Jones (Spokane, WA / Saint George's School) – 800m: 1:52.74, 1600m: 4:17.60. Double state champion in Washington.
Cody Lucas (Meridian, ID / Rocky Mountain HS) – 1600m: 4:11.29, 1 Mile: 4:12.85. Top Idaho distance talent.
Sprints and Hurdles
Cobe Cameron (Post Falls, ID) – 400m: 47.79. Idaho state champion.
Chase Lawyer (Boise, ID) – 110mH: 13.84. District 3 6A champion and state runner-up.
Raekwon Weatherspoon (Las Vegas / Pima CC) – 100m: 10.68, LJ: 7.69m. NJCAA national contender.

Ezra Teeples (Kennewick, WA) – 800m: 1:52.24, 1M: 4:09.51. WA State Champion; elite range across mid-distance events.
Jack Sheesley (Boise, ID) – 1600m: 4:14.03, 3200m: 9:09.85. Idaho state finalist and Nike Outdoor Nationals competitor.
