Boise State Track & Field Adds 33 Newcomers for 2025 Season

Boise State Cross Country and Track and Field Head Coach Pat McCurry has announced the addition of 33 new student-athletes for the 2025-26 season. The class includes 19 men and 14 women, with seven newcomers set to compete in cross country.

“Our staff is stoked to announce our first full recruiting class in our tenure,” McCurry said. “The balance, depth, and quality of this class reflects our commitment to building championship-ready teams. This group of student-athletes will be transformational to our program.”

Men’s Track & Field / Cross Country Recruits

Patrick Kiprop (Nairobi, Kenya / Cincinnati) – 5000m PB: 13:54.71. NCAA transfer with top-tier cross country experience.

  • Tyler Grant (Spring, TX / Grand Oaks HS) – Discus: 202’0”. 2025 Texas UIL 6A State Champion; ranked Top 10 nationally.

  • Shawn Jones (Spokane, WA / Saint George's School) – 800m: 1:52.74, 1600m: 4:17.60. Double state champion in Washington.

  • Cody Lucas (Meridian, ID / Rocky Mountain HS) – 1600m: 4:11.29, 1 Mile: 4:12.85. Top Idaho distance talent.

Sprints and Hurdles

  • Cobe Cameron (Post Falls, ID) – 400m: 47.79. Idaho state champion.

  • Chase Lawyer (Boise, ID) – 110mH: 13.84. District 3 6A champion and state runner-up.

  • Raekwon Weatherspoon (Las Vegas / Pima CC) – 100m: 10.68, LJ: 7.69m. NJCAA national contender.

Mid- and Long-Distance

  • Ezra Teeples (Kennewick, WA) – 800m: 1:52.24, 1M: 4:09.51. WA State Champion; elite range across mid-distance events.

  • Jack Sheesley (Boise, ID) – 1600m: 4:14.03, 3200m: 9:09.85. Idaho state finalist and Nike Outdoor Nationals competitor.

Throws and Jumps

  • Joseph Garcia (Elk Grove, CA) – SP: 58'9", HT: 184'9". Top results across four throwing events.

  • Tanner Nett (Boise, ID / Eastern Oregon) – SP: 18.09m. 4x NAIA All-American.

  • Aayden Simmons (Helena, MT) – TJ: 49’5.75”. 3rd at New Balance Indoor Nationals.

  • Priscilla Adu-Gyamfi (Cypress, TX) – 400m: 53.28. Texas UIL 6A runner-up and national contender in sprints and jumps.

  • Victoria Lotz (Spring Hill, KS / Mid-America Nazarene) – HT: 59.02m, DT: 48.68m. 5x NAIA All-American; 2025 NAIA National Champion in hammer.

  • Nadia Collins (Tallahassee, FL / Cincinnati) – LJ: 6.05m. Transfer with NCAA experience in sprints and jumps.

Mid- and Long-Distance Standouts

  • Emme Hamm (Meridian, ID) – 800m: 2:11.71, 1600m: 4:49.65. Idaho state champion in both events.

  • Lily LaPorte (Seattle, WA) – 3200m: 10:31.76. Competed at Oregon Relays and major West Coast invitationals.

  • Eliisa Marshall (Camas, WA) – 800m: 2:11.50. State runner-up and all-state honors in both cross country and track.

Sprints and Hurdles

  • Campbell Brintnall (Tualatin, OR) – 300mH: 42.13. Oregon 6A state champion and second-fastest all-time in the state.

  • Breasia Roberts (Forney, TX) – 100m: 11.61, 200m: 24.31. Texas standout in both sprints and jumps.

Throws

  • Amaya Dixon (Grand Prairie, TX) – SP: 46’6.75”. Two-time Texas UIL 6A Area Champion.

  • Addy Macarthur (Spokane, WA) – SP: 46’4”, DT: 155’5”. Two-time Washington state champion in throws.
